Konneh & Konneh Metal Group (KKMG) is a youth-led and community-centered scrap metal trading business with an integrated social impact mission. Based in Paynesville, Liberia, we work with local youth to collect, sort, and sell scrap metal like iron, copper, aluminum, and zinc by weight, paying fair prices that help them support themselves and their families.

But our mission goes beyond business. We provide mentorship, peer support, and mental health guidance to help young people, especially those who were once child soldiers overcome trauma, addiction, and the challenges of poverty. At KKMG, we make make work a path to dignity, purpose, and hope, not just income.

Through ethical practices, fair treatment, and community-focused initiatives, we create opportunities that empower youth, strengthen communities, and contribute to a more sustainable Liberia.

Our Mission

To empower and uplift 100,000 young people and families in Paynesville and beyond within 5,000 days by providing dignified income opportunities through scrap collection, fostering personal growth through compassionate mentorship, and supporting mental health recovery, so that every person we serve can reclaim hope, stability, and purpose in their lives.

Our company aims to improve living conditions, reduce trauma, and decrease drug addiction among young people while giving them dignity and purpose. We care about our suppliers’ mental health and living conditions as much as we care about the goods they bring to us.

Our Vision

A Liberia where every person and families affected by war and poverty has access to economic opportunity, mental health support, and a pathway to a dignified, purposeful life.
